Heatplan was created by Michael Buchanan, who has over 22 years experience in the gas industry working mainly in the commercial and industrial sector on a number of projects for various blue chip clients, 10 of which were as a Senior Technical Consultancy Manager with CORGI (Council for Registered Gas Installers).

Michael started his working life as a 15 year old apprentice with a large mechanical services company in the north of England. Then in the1990's an opportunity to work for CORGI came along and he was asked to join as an Inspector covering the NW of the country, from here he took various promotions leading to his last position where he headed up the highly successful consultancy and training department.
His last role of Commercial Services Manager saw him leading a growing consultancy business providing technical training/consultancy services to clients internal and external to the gas industry. Most of the work he has undertaken in his years with CORGI has been with clients such Housing Associations, Local Authorities and RSL's who needed solutions to their ever increasing difficulties with the management of gas work within tenanted properties, and how to act on the duties placed on them under the Gas Safety (installation & use) Regulations.

Having decided that he wanted to develop and grow his own business, Michael started Heatplan Ltd, a business which not only provides gas service, maintenance a breakdown packages, but a fully managed service for Landlords and Managing Agents which can take away the difficulties associated with ensuring compliance with current Regulations in making sure all your properties are checked for safety every 12 month's by a competent CORGI and Gas Safe Registered business.
Michael has an MBA and is a member of the Institute of Gas Engineers and Managers, Chartered Institute of Building, the Institute of Domestic Heating and Environmental Engineers.
